PDFdoc — Reader & Editor: Privacy Policy

Effective date: 31 October 2026

This policy explains how the Android app PDFdoc — Reader & Editor (package app.pdfdoc, "the app") handles your information. The app is developed by Yurii Khmelovskyi, an individual developer.

In short

Documents and files

The app opens, displays, edits, converts and saves only the files you choose through the standard Android file picker. All processing (reading, editing, merging, compressing, converting) happens locally on your device. We have no access to your files.

To show recently opened documents, the app keeps a list of them and your settings in its private storage on the device. This data is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.

Camera

The app asks for camera access only so you can scan paper documents into PDF. Camera images are processed on the device and are saved only where you choose. You can refuse or revoke this permission in Android settings; all other features keep working.

Notifications and background work

The app may show a notification while a long task (for example, converting or compressing a large file) runs in the background, and when it finishes. No data is sent anywhere during this work.

Sharing

When you use "Share" or "Open with", the selected file is handed to the app you pick (email, messenger, cloud storage, etc.). From that moment the other app's privacy policy applies.

Google Play

The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect data about installs, purchases and crashes under its own policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We receive only anonymous, aggregated statistics from Google Play Console.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them; in fact it collects no data from anyone.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. All app data stays on your device and is under your control. If you have any questions, including under the GDPR or Montenegrin data protection law, contact us.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date.
